i turn 21 in five days and have spent the past year engaging in abundant reflection. I have been analyzing what I’ve learned about myself and the world, and how I’ve grown these past 20 years of my life.
i often get comments on how mature my mindset is (although I'm actually very immature LOL), but I honestly believe that rapid maturity is a consequence of how your younger years might have been, and the lessons you may have learned (whether you wanted to or not).
anyways… I wanted to share with you all what I have learned these past 20 years, and tips/advice which I believe people in their 20’s should implement if possible. oftentimes, wisdom is associated with age, but, as we have seen throughout the progression of this life, your age does not dictate how much wisdom you possess or how much impact you can make.
not everyone will agree with my tips, but they’re just that, my tips. I have compiled 54 tips and advice for people in their 20’s as a parting gift to my 20 year old self ❤️🔥
these are all reminders to me first as I definitely could work on most of these. i hope you enjoy the read and learn something from it :)
From the beginning of the teenage years all the way through college, all anyone wants to do is fit in. The cost of fitting in is often times much more expensive and can have ripple affects on the rest of our lives. It can take many forms, whether that be disregarding your morals/values, engaging in something you don’t want to, staying in toxic situations, putting yourself in dangerous situations, or hiding who you truly are. The most important thing we owe to ourselves is to be our authentic selves! Speak your opinions, pursue your passions, trust yourself, and show up as your full self wherever you may be :)
It is not uncommon to see 20 year olds stressing about their lives and futures. Seeking to calculate every minute detail of our lives. Seeking perfection and shutting down when things don’t go according to our calculations. It is important to realize we can’t possibly calculate everything. Life changes rapidly, you change, your mindset changes, and your goals change overtime. Just go with the flow of life, take everything step by step as it comes, and live in the present! If you are religious, trust God’s plan! It is ok to not have everything figured out right this moment.
