quality of results is different when doing it out of frustration vs as a nice to have or just for fun
i think more people need to be frustrated!!! there is a reason we evolved to have anger as an emotion!!
frustration / anger is seen as a bad thing but
when we talk about inspiration: it too often focuses on this rosy reason for doing something and solving a problem , but i wish more creators emphasized anger they may feel.
i think the angrier you are with a system, the more it deeply aches your soul, the more obsessed you become with wanting to solve it but also i think anger is the right first step towards having a solid intention that will help keep you going when things get hard or when you feel like giving up.
you can tell how angry someone was when creating something based on how much they care about the details and also how much they try to build systems/orgs/products that will outlast them and don’t only depend on their involvement.
i think because anger leads to you REALLY wanting to see a new future / outcome, your focus is typically on creating that reality instead of just stroking your own ego and seeking recognition.
a good example of this is student orgs. i think you can really tell when something was created out of frustration/being fed up because weirdly enough, those turn out to be the most beautiful and purpose driven orgs where others around feel like a part of something bigger.
i’ve also been observing the difference between things created lately whether that be startups orgs or something else
maybe… is this the same thing as just having purpose driven things and orgs? can there be purpose driven stuff that dont stem out of anger? i honestly think maybe anything purpose driven is from anger????? i actually don’t know
maybe it helps to think about all of the things that motivate humans to do things
money
fame
status
acceptance
validation
i just saw this site of 5 life purpose examples so i guess yeah anger ≠ purpose driven .
hmmmm.. do you even need anger then if you can just make purpose driven stuff??? but i guess purpose driven stuff doesnt have to stem from anger? you can just love doing kind things as your purpose but still ignore anger and not let it drive your ideas?
moral of the story is things dont need to be just created from anger of course: i love silly beautiful things and events that help us have fun and enjoy our lives lol but i also think more people really need to start
its really nice to hold on tightly to some rllyyy cool vision or technological innovation or advancement but i think we should all spend time regularly thinking about what makes us angry to the point where it needs to change and instead of ranting over and over, i think we should try and figure out how we can be that change.
